Brett McCauley has fired into title calculations after winning the NSW Long Range Championships at the famous Malabar range.
He topped the 500, 600, 700 and 800-metre ranges, upsetting world champion Ben Emms, from the little town of Lyndhurst near Blayney.
It gives him a chance to qualifying for the world titles.
‘’He was very impressive, he also beat Jim Bailey, one of Australia’s best and the world champion,” Mr King said.
“Now he will go the Australian championship in a bid to qualify for the world titles in New Zealand.”
McCauley has impressed at the local range near Wellington at Wuuluman and it was no surprise to members of the local club that he was among the best.
The Wellington five team also finished third at the championships and McCauley was part of the side.
