The library makeover is complete. The brand new library reopens this Monday July 4. Come on in from 10am Monday and be among the first to experience Dubbo’s new and improved library. The vibrant new space includes bright new furniture new ceiling and lighting, new carpet, a fresh coat of paint and a more user friendly layout.

The cold winter weather makes for perfect reading conditions, so come in and stock up on books, magazines and DVDs to curl up with at home with a range of great new titles to choose from. If you have items at home that were due back during the library closure, return them anytime during July to enjoy an Amnesty on all over due loans. This means no overdue fees
If you’re time poor and on the go, check out the brand new Quick Pick collection, located near the library entrance. Quick Picks allow you to select from the latest fiction and non fiction within seconds. You can even check out your loans using the brand new self serve checkout.
There are lots of great areas for study, public computers and wifi access, as well as lots of great reading nooks taking advantage of the natural light from the brand new front windows.

To celebrate the library’s reopening, there are a number of fantastic events for all ages to look forward to this July.
Magic With Pooka: Thursday 7 July at 2.30pm. At just $2 per child. Bookings are essential as places are limited 6801 4510.
The Battle of Fromelles, a World War I Centenary talk delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Peter Sweeney RFD (Ret’d) on Tuesday 26 July at 5.30pm. Bookings for this free event on 6801 4510.
Shakespeare fans can get up close and personal with Australia’s only original copy of the first publication of the Bard’s plays - known as the First Folio 1623 – Dubbo Library July 28 and 29. Maggie Patton, Manager of Research and Discovery at the State Library NSW, will present the First Folio July 28 at 6pm and July 29 at 11am. Bookings for this free talk on 6801 4510.
