The Macquarie Credit Union 2016 DREAM Festival includes the DREAM Art Prize and exhibition called Citizen.
Focus of the competition is the city’s built landscape, as opposed to its natural charms.
Exhibition co-ordinator Jessica Moore is asking artists to look at the city with “new, fresh and creative eyes”.
Suggested subjects for entries include fast food outlets in Cobra Street, the railway crossing on Brisbane Street and the LH Ford Bridge.
Festival chairwoman Anne Field said Citizen would be displayed throughout the central business district during the festival, creating an “art walk” for residents and visitors.
“A $1000 critics’ choice prize is being provided by Designer Décor and Gifts.
“The public will be given an opportunity to vote with a $500 people’s choice award provided by Crampton’s Carpets,” she said.
