Coach Graeme Waters said it was their worst performance of the season and admitted his players were eager to put it behind them.
It has been a tough year for the Lions, who are sitting at the bottom of the ladder after 12 rounds.
Lithgow scored six goals in the first half, and the same again after the break, with two late goals for Lions Jack Eckford and Stuart McKenzie offering the only relief for the visitors.
Waters said the performance against Zig Zag was disappointing because he felt the team's recent performances had been good.
"There's really not much we can say about that one. Lithgow had a good game, we had probably our worst game and there are no excuses," he said.
"The guys came off the field and said they didn't play well."
Making the situation worse for the Lions, Matt Waters left the field with a possible pulled groin and Hayden Luke had a troublesome knee.
The coach said both players would find out later in the week if they would be right for Saturday's match against Wanderers.
"We have had a lot of away games lately but after this weekend, we get four in a row at home so that will make it a bit easier for us," Waters said.
"We might have a few more players to chose from."
While the Lions had a heavy loss, it was nothing compared to the 22-0 defeat Bathurst City suffered at the hands of Souths.
Souths led 10-0 at half-time and continued to press their advantage in the second half.
Spanish debutant Edu Garriga Viudes scored five goals, while Daniel Carter and Mike Stanford finished with four goals each.
The result fell just two goals short of the Premier League record, set by St Pat's more than a decade ago.
