The Roos sat second after only dropping one match in the opening seven rounds but now find themselves fourth as they prepare to take travel to Cowra this weekend.
Last weekend’s general bye was a good chance for the side to refresh and rather than lament the recent losses to Orange City and Forbes, Armitage reiterated the fact that his side is one that still has plenty of improvement in it.
“Losing more games will create more pressure but at the end of the day if we keep improving working hard the results will come eventually,” he said, before speaking about the next two games against Cowra and leaders Orange Emus.
“It was always going to be a tough run for us but you’ve got to ride it out.
“All matches are important and you want to win them all but you can’t put more emphasis on one more than the other.”
Cowra currently sit outside the competition’s top five but have shown plenty of improvement in recent weeks.
The Eagles pushed the unbeaten Emus last time out and this week’s match is one Armitage and his side “aren’t treating it any different” to their matches against City and Forbes.
Cowra are always a formidable opponent at home and Dubbo’s task is made even more difficult by the fact scrumhalf Tim Phillips and hooker Jack Finch are out while captain Filisione Pauta is also away on representative duty.
Cowra will also be without their captain and star player as Chris Miller will be in action for the Country Cockatoos alongside Pauta.
Armitage confessed it was frustrating when he couldn’t field the same team week in, week out with the changing nature of his backs particularly painful.
What has also been concerning is the fact his side haven’t been able to make the most of their attacking chances.
Against both City and Forbes the Roos had tries disallowed and Armitage wants his side to make their attacking raids count against Cowra.
“They both could have been different but the little things have let us down,” he said.
“We’ve just got to take our chances because as long as we’re not doing that we’re going to be on the wrong end of the results.”
Saturday’s first grade match kicks off at 3.15pm at Cowra Rugby Ground.
