The Michael Doggett-trained dog won the $4157 race at the famed track in fairly routine circumstances.
After jumping well from box three Grovebrook Flyer got immediately to the lead and that was where he stayed for the entire journey.
Things weren't so comfortable for the rest of the field and pre-race favourite Davey ($2.40), who blitzed his heat at Dawson Park last week, came into contact with a fellow runner after the first bend and fell to the ground and out of contention.
Grovebrook Flyer had to work incredibly hard to win his heat last week, coming from deep in the field and only getting to the lead in the final stages.
The final itself could not have been more different.
Grovebrook Flyer ($10.20) got to the lead early, ahead of Scarlett Dawn ($16.70) and Olli Charlyn ($6).
But Olli Charlyn dropped back and Davey ran into the back of him, sending him tumbling to the ground.
As they hit the back straight Grovebrook Flyer was already out in front by two lengths.
His lead only got bigger as he hit the bend for home and the progeny of Spring Gun and Grovebrook Blaze went on to win by three-and-three quarters from Scarlett Dawn and Pastizzi Pizzi ($4.30).
The win was only Grovebrook Flyer's fifth win from 41 starts but it was his second victory in succession.
Forbes trainer Raymond Smith also enjoyed the trip to Wentworth Park with two from his kennel recording wins.
Irinka Alf and his champion stayer Brad Hill Billy were both victorious.
In other local greyhound racing news, the calendar of races at Dawson Park for the next 12 months has been released.
The club will hold 36 meeting across the next year, with at least two meetings each month from now until the end of next June.
The bulk will be held on Thursdays but there will be three Friday meetings in January and two Friday night meetings in April.
