Bird owners from across the state will flock to Dubbo for the event, which kicks off from 9am on Sunday at the Ray Clarke Pavilion.
"That's when the judging starts so the general public can roll in anytime after that," the society's publicity officer Mark Hawke said.
Hundreds - possibly up to 1000 - birds will be on show throughout the day, including budgerigars, canaries, parrots and finches.
There will be a sausage sizzle and other hot food and soft drinks available, while members' birds will also be on sale.
"It's the biggest show in the central west," Mr Hawke said.
"They [bid owners] will travel from the whole state. We've got people coming from Sydney, as far as Bourke out west, down south near Wagga Wagga, we get them from all over.
"That's why it's the biggest bird show in the west."
The show will kick off about 9am, with the winners to be announced around lunchtime.
