Former Bachelor contestant and Bachelorette Sam Frost has revealed the inner workings of Ten's dating show and how the network has had to crackdown on contestants' contracts to stop them spoiling the latest season.

The Bachelor, which airs later this year, stars Richie Strahan, the Perth runner-up for Frost's heart who was dismissed in the semi-final of The Bachelorette for Sasha Mielczarek.

In her 2Day FM breakfast radio program with Rove McManus, Frost juicily dropped the bombshell that in the last season of The Bachelor, female contestants vying for Sam Woods' heart plotted to ruin the show.

"So here's what I'm hearing," McManus said to Frost. "Richie and the current ladies, it's pretty much been shot... All the ladies that have been kicked out up to this point have been told they're in lock-down as well. Does that make sense to you?"

"The reason why they've had a massive crackdown on the contracts ... In Sam Wood's season, all the girls were very spiteful once they didn't win. It was honestly a mess to try and shut them up," Frost revealed.

"They were like, 'Argh! Sam Wood, he's not even that good! And guess what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna ruin your show!' The girls would plot together — I'm not going to name names, but I think you guys can do the math... They started selling stories or I don't even know if they sold the stories, but basically they were giving information to news outlets."

McManus: "To discredit the show so they don't look foolish when Sam doesn't choose them."

Frost: "Exactly. They're going out, hooking up with boys, and then you're like 'oh processs of elimination they're not it, they're not it' and it ruins the show's storyline."

Frost said Snezana Markoski, last season's winning Bachelor contestant, was the only one that who didn't go out and get on social media, because "she's like, 'Mate, I got the maaaaan'".

Frost explained that the difficulty would come for Strahan having the chance to really connect with his chosen lady since they couldn't be seen together until the show had completed.

She said it took four months from shooting The Bachelorette to the result [choosing Sacha, who she is about to celebrate her one-year anniversary with].

"I wouldn't be surprised if they said 'Richie, you and your lady are not allowed to catch up in that time because it's too much of a risk'. ...And the paps would know who the final three are because they have been following it and they'll be like 'I'll stalk you and you and you for the entire time to and figure out who wins'."
