Eight races will be contested on the day following the finalisation of the fields on Thursday morning.
Local trainers make up the majority of those involved with the likes of Clint Lundholm, Peter Nestor, Justin Stanley, Garry Lunn, Michael Mulholland and Terry Fahey all set to saddle up chances.
Lundholm's Tick The Box will be one to watch following a win in Coonamble last start while Nestor's Not A Shadow will make his third appearance since running in the $400,000 Country Championship Final last month.
But one of the most well represented trainers, as often is the case in meetings around the west, will be Brett Thompson.
The Gulgong trainer has nine hopes set to take part with four of those aiming for their first win.
The day will begin for Thompson in the first event, a Two-Year-Old Handicap (1200m).
Bel Beau and Sorry I'm Awesome will make the first starts of their career in that event, with apprentice Rachael King and Ken Dunbar set to take the respective rides.
Thompson's best chance of victory appears to be in the Dubbo RSL Club Sunset Bistro Benchmark 60 Handicap (1100m) where he will have three involvements.
Hewentwhoosh is set to carry the top weight of 63.5kg but that is to be offset somewhat by apprentice jockey Aaron Sweeney's 2.5kg claim. The gelding will jump from barrier six and will be joined by stablemates Sharp Note and Special Edition.
Sunday's racing is set to begin with the first at 12.25pm with the eighth and final event leaving the barriers at 4.42pm.
Dubbo RSL Club members will score free entry due to it being the May for Members meeting.
In other racing news, Saturday's meeting at Brewarrina has been postponed due to rain.
A total of 12mm fell on Thursday morning to the already rain-affected track and with further wet weather forecast, stewards were forced to abandon the meeting after giving consideration to the health and safety of horses and jockeys.
The meeting is not completely lost, with it set to be rescheduled to a date not specified at the time of printing.
Locals can still rejoice with the news the celebrations will still go ahead at the town, beginning from 12pm at the Brewarrina RSL.
