The photograph entitled Rosa Blades won Helen Akerstrom the ABC Western Plains Prize of a $250 ABC Shop voucher.
As the competition's exhibition draws to a close, Ms Akerstrom has told of how the photograph came to be.
"The shearer was proudly showing off his trade of a brand new set of Australian blade shears for these old pair of South African Rosa Blades, which is the brand name," she said.
"So I asked him to show me the blades and this is the image."
Art Unlimited event manager Penny Stevens has released the names of its winners in a year of record entries.
"Art Unlimited has exceeded all expectations this year with close to 500 entries across the three categories of hanging art, photography and ceramics," she said.
"This is a record number for our eighth year. So far, hundreds of visitors have viewed the exhibition and are continuing to come through.
"Sales are very good, so the committee's decision to extend the show for an extra week has paid off."
