The victory was not the prettiest the Raiders will score in 2016 but it pleased coach Steve McLellan nonetheless.
The first 40 minutes was filled with dropped ball and missed opportunities for Macquarie and the Tigers capitalised.
Nyngan were without key players Jacob Neill and Reece Goldsmith, who were both away on Western Rams duty, but they still managed to build a 16-6 lead on the back of tries to Mitch Rixon, Jone Yacadrau and Cameron Bourke.
But the Raiders kept them scoreless in the second half as they went on to score a 22-16 victory.
"You don't got through a season and play a consistent brand of footy, you'll have off days but still managing to win is pleasing," McLellan said.
"At half time we had been that poor and we could have gone out and dished up 40 minutes more of the same with our tails between our legs but there was real pride in performance.
"I said to the boys at half time I was justified to blow up at them but it wouldn't have achieved anything, they were the ones who could fix it."
Ash Widders, Etuate Gusuivalu, Josh Merritt and Norm Button were the try-scorers for the Raiders while they also had three second half four-pointers disallowed. Timoci Yauvoli and Damien Wells, again, were among the best for the Raiders, who have now won three from four this season.
It wasn't all good news for the Raiders though, as their horror run of injuries continued.
Chris Daley, in his first game back from a broken hand, had to be carried from the field after suffering a potentially serious knee injury sustained when trying to step around a Tigers player.
McLellan stated he was "devastated" for Daley, who joins the likes of Mason Williams, Dylan Hill and Perry Meredith on the treatment table.
Despite that, the day as a whole was a successful one for Macquarie, who were celebrating Brett Warwick's 30-year career.
This season marks 30 years since Warwick started with the Macquarie juniors and the club honoured him on Saturday, with members of the crowd even wearing Brett Warwick masks during the reserve grade side's victory.
