In somewhat of a coup, a handful of country NSW's best players will converge on Dubbo for the match, which kicks off at 4pm.
Adding to the local interest, local Demons star Jono Naden has been named in the run on side for Central West.
Nick O'Sullivan was also named in the squad but was unavailable this weekend.
The Demons bid for the match, as the venue is determined on a rotating basis and last year's game was at Hillston's Stan Peters Oval.
Central West won the match last year, regaining the Shield in the process, and Dubbo Demons president Arend Boog is hopeful a big crowd will turn out for the 2016 edition of the clash.
"It's a great opportunity to grab the family, particularly the kids that love watching AFL on TV, to see some great players in action," he said.
"Dubbo has a wide sporting variety, but this really is the chance to enjoy watching AFL at a local level."
In terms of the match itself, Central West coach Mark Kennedy is supremely confident of retaining the Shield.
"We'll certainly be giving it a fair crack over there in Dubbo, we're really looking forward to it," Kennedy, who also coaches the Bathurst Giants, said.
"We're not really sure what Northern Riverina will bring to the table this year, so we're preparing for their normal running style of football. It should be a good game."
Shaun Noyen will captain the side and is joined by five of his Bathurst Bushranger clubmates - picked from both the Rebels and Outlaws outfits - while CWAFL stalwart and three-time Orange Tigers flag-winner Mick Rothnie will be his deputy.
Another five of the Tigers' best have been named, while the Parkes Panthers have four representatives, Young Saints two and the Demons, Cowra Blues and Giants have one apiece.
"It's a good cross-section of players from across the competition, I'm pretty pleased with the squad," Kennedy, who last coached the side in 2013, said.
First bounce at South Dubbo Oval is scheduled for 4pm.
CWAFL's under-12 and under-14 sides will also play against Northern Riverina on Saturday, those teams will be revised before the Nowra Representative AFL Carnival in July.
CWAFL is also calling out for interested players for an under-17 side and a women's team to compete in Nowra as well, any keen players should email matthew.johnson@afl.com.au.
