Puppeteers and actors bought author Eric Carle's stories to life in an enchanting show on Thursday and Friday.
The show featured characters from three of Eric Carle's other bestselling classic tales including, The Artist Who Painted A Blue Horse, Mr Seahorse and The Very Lonely Firefly.
Created by Jonathan Worsley and directed by Naomi Edwards, the show featured 75 magical puppets created by New York's Puppet Kitchen.
The DRTCC hosted four shows over the two days and the cast and crew from the Australian-made show even visited the Dubbo Macquarie Regional Library (DMRL) for a special performance and reading of the book on Thursday afternoon. More than 20 parents and children attended the event at the library.
DMRL Manager of Library Services and Collections Lindy Allan said the book was a part of everyone's childhood.
"The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a book we've all grown up with and loved," she said.
"The shows are a great way to bring Eric Carle's books to life."
Performer Drew Wilson said this was the first time they had brought the show to Dubbo and the audience had responded well to the shows.
"We're all really enjoying our time at Dubbo," he said while visiting the DMRL on Thursday.
"To interact with the children has been great."
