Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash west of Cobar on Thursday.

About 4pm, police and emergency services were called to the Barrier Highway; about 110km from Cobar after a blue Toyota RAV4 SUV left the road and rolled.
A 25-year-old woman was driving the car and travelling with her 19-month old son and six-month old daughter.
The woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for a laceration to her forehead and injury to her hips and her daughter sustained minor bruising to her head.
Both were conveyed to Cobar Hospital where they remain in a stable condition.
The 19-month old boy died at the scene.
A crime scene was established and officers from Darling River Local Area Command and the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and preparing a report for the information of the Coroner.
