Mr Richards competes in the Porsche Carrera Cup and his primary sponsor Laser Plumbing and Electrical has thrown its support behind the Give Me 5 for Kids campaign, which will donate all proceeds to the children's ward at Dubbo Hospital.
He will be driving a transporter containing his Porsche into Dubbo on Monday, May 16 and will be signing autographs at the Church Street Rotunda, between 9am and 1pm.
Mr Richards will be joined by Shawn Maas from Laser Plumbing Dubbo, Laser Electrical Dubbo managing director Alex Klassens, Dubbo MP Troy Grant and Dubbo mayor Mathew Dickerson.
Mr Maas said he was pleased that he was able to play a role in assisting an important community asset like the hospital.
"The Children's Ward provides a vital service to the community. Having the ability to bring a champion bloke in Steve Richards to Dubbo to help us raise money and awareness for such an important cause is something I'm really pleased we can do," he said.
Later in the day Mr Richards will visit the Dubbo TAFE campus on Narromine Road and allow local automotive students to check out the Porsche as well as the transporter.
"Through our relationship with Laser Plumbing and Electrical, we are extremely lucky to have access to one of Australia's favourite race car champions, Steve Richards. To be able to bring him to Dubbo and show off what is one of the Carrera Cups most recognised vehicles is great," Mr Klassens said.
