By mid-morning on Saturday the sun came out and so did the crowd.
Some of the major events and attractions on the day included the announcement of the 2016 Dubbo Showgirl, which went to Pagan Hockley, the Dinosaur Display exhibition and the D-Max Utes and Monster Trucks.
The official opening of the Show was held in the later afternoon, where there was a range of prestigious guests, including Member for Dubbo Troy Grant and Member for Parkes Mark Coulton.
"It is a humbling opportunity to officially open the Dubbo Show," Mr Grant said.
"Days like this are a special event on everyone's calendar and is a chance to celebrate all things great about living in a country area.
"I've been told that this years number of entrants in the sheep section is the largest, which, despite hardships of drought, is indicative of our dedicated landholders."
A large crowd turned out to watch the official opening of the Show, and despite been given short notice, previous Showgirl entrant Michaela Davis performed the national anthem.
The opening of the Show included the presentation of the 2016 Dubbo Showgirl winner, which was won by Pagan Hockley.
The action continues at the showground on Sunday with the pet parade competition, beaut utes and more.
