Elders Weather forecasts a 90 per cent chance of 10 to 20 millimetres of rain to fall on Saturday, and there is a 70 per cent chance of up to five millimetres of rain for Sunday.
Dubbo Show Society Secretary Sue Hood said although it would be all systems go if it did rain, the showjumping events would have to be cancelled if the fall was too much.
"If we get heavy rain we'll have to pull that event," Ms Hood said.
"But other than that everything else will be operational. It'll be full steam ahead."
Ms Hood said a number of the pavillion entries had already been judged and the entrant numbers this year had been good.
"Although the horse section is down this year," she said.
When Fairfax Media spoke to Ms Hood on Friday afternoon, she said although she could not put an exact figure on the numbers through the gate on Friday, the first of the three-day event, she had seen people 'from right across the board' attending Friday's show day.
"The school children were here since 10am this morning and they all had a lovely time," Ms Hood said.
Ms Hood also hoped to see as many people as possible come through the gates across the three days.
"Everyone that comes through the gates can expect a wonderful day out at a reasonable price for a good days worth of entertainment," she said.
Ms Hood also wanted to remind those attending there were automated teller machines (ATM) on site at the show.
