Chapman was part of the Group 11 squad which defeated Group 10 last season and the two foes meet on Saturday at Gilgandra with places in the Western squad again going on the line.
The powerful centre is one of four Dubbo CYMS players in the side and said he wanted as many of his teammates as possible to be part of Darren Jackson's squad for the upcoming Country Championships.
"If we can get a win and have some more players in, as well as the ones from last year, it would be unreal," he said.
"Getting the four CYMS boys in too, we had four last year so four again would be great."
The challenge facing Chapman and his teammates was the fact none of them had played a competitive competition match yet this season while the Group 10 players had already played two rounds.
That came about because of the Group 11 draw being changed due to the departure of the Cobar Roosters.
"They're going to have two games on us so they'll have a bit more match fitness and a bit of an advantage there," Chapman confessed.
"But we've got a young and fit side so hopefully we can run them around a bit and get through their big fellas because they're going to have a big pack."
Chapman highlighted his teammate Jarryn Powyer and Forbes captain-coach Jake Grace as key figures in the second row.
Both had been standouts in recent seasons and their agility and strength could be vital against a Group 10 pack featuring big boppers Simon Osborne, Brent Seager and Ron Lawrence.
"Jake and Jarryn have been probably two of the best forwards in the competition, coming off last year," Chapman said.
"And then we've got big Brendan (Tago) and Luke Thompson so hopefully those big fellas can get through some big minutes."
Chapman will again line up in the centres alongside Fishies teammates Kieran Shipp, who is usually found at fullback or even on the wing.
Despite it being an unfamiliar position for his teammate, Chapman said the duo would still get the job done and assist debutant wingers Brad Pickering and Kotoni Staggs.
"It's a bit different but I'm sure he'll adjust, he can in any other position," he said.
"And 'Picko' and Kotoni can both play anything as well so we can mix it up a bit and they've already got lots of experience."
Another thing working in Group 11's favour, according to Chapman, was the fact halves Colby Pellow and Jacob O'Neill had played plenty of representative football together.
Group 11 take on Group 10 from 1pm at Gilgandra's McGrane Oval.
