The meeting will begin the build up to the Carnival of Cups meeting on April 29 and all eyes on the fillies in the Red Ochre Mares Classic (2120m).
Three heats will be run with all involved looking to seal a place in the $30,000 final later this month.
Bathurst based O'Shea has five drives for the night and while he has never driven any of the five before, he knows he's in with a good chance.
One of those in the Red Ochre heats is Champagne Dreams, who is with O'Shea from the Queensland-based stables of Jack Butler.
O'Shea has driven for Butler and is good mates with the former Bathurst trainer and said it will be interesting to see how the filly with 13 places from 25 starts performs at Dubbo.
"I've got her here for the race and then she'll probably be back up," he said.
"I don't know much about her, she wasn't in work when I was up there, but her forms seems alright.
"She is only a C1 though."
Champagne Dreams will start from the number one gate on Wednesday in the second of the Red Ochre heats.
She has recorded two wins and a second this preparation but faces a number of talented pacers.
"It's pretty strong. There's a few handy fillies," O'Shea said.
"It's probably not as strong as years gone by but there's talented ones and when you put up $30,000 you're going to get some good cattle." The biggest challenge facing O'Shea, apart from never driving Champagne Dreams before, is the fact she has travelled a long way and has also never seen the Dubbo track before.
"She seems nice enough and has been racing in some nice races so will be interesting to see how she goes on the smaller track and longer distance," he said, before saying how he will approach the race.
"I'll just see how it pans out.
"I'll have a talk to Jack tomorrow but it's been a bloody long trip for her.
"She does run well in front and has good gate speed so if she's feeling good in front then I'll just leave her there."
O'Shea's other four drives are for Shane Hillier and he admitted he liked to look of Tactful Lady, who will start in the second row in the opening Red Ochre Classic heat.
The eight-race meeting at Dubbo Paceway starts at 5pm.
