A MAN stopped for driving without a seatbelt on in Walgett was also found to have been driving while disqualified after police who pulled him over did a check of his licence.

The 33-year-old from Walgett was stopped on Fox Street about 11am on April 9.
The driver was found to have been disqualified until February 3, 2017.
Checks on the vehicle's registration also showed it had expired, a police spokesperson said.
The man was issued with infringement notices regarding his seatbelt and the registration of the vehicle and a field court attendance notice for driving while disqualified. He will front Walgett Local Court on May 24.
Earlier that day police had stopped a vehicle travelling on the same street, where the driver was wanted in relation to an alleged assault that had taken place hours earlier in Arthur Street.
The 40-year-old Gulargambone man was arrested and returned to Walgett Police Station, where he was granted conditional bail ahead of an appearance at Walgett Local Court on April 26.
Meanwhile a 22-year-old Gulargambone man pulled over while driving a white Holden Commodore along Coonamble Street in Gulargambone on April 7 will front court in June after checks by police showed he was unlicensed and the vehicle was unregistered.
A driver allegedly caught drink driving in Coonamble will front Coonamble Local Court on April 19.
Police patrolling Limerick Street in the early hours of Saturday, April 9, stopped a blue Mitsubishi Lancer Sedan after the driver had initially allegedly failed to stop and led officers onto a dirt road at the northern end of Floyd Street.
The driver then allegedly registered a blood alcohol reading of 0.069.
On Tuesday, April 5, 2016 a 20-year-old Collarenebri man was stopped by police travelling along the Gwydir Highway at Collarenebri.
Police were aware the driver had never held a driver's licence and checks showed he had been disqualified from holding one in NSW. A check of the vehicle he was driving indicated that it was also unregistered and uninsured.
He will appear before Walgett Local Court.
