The action begins next week with heats on the Monday, Tuesday and Thursday before all the finals take place on Sunday, April 23.

The highlight of the meeting will be the $15,000 annual Cosmic Rumble Gold Cup (516m), which has attracted some stellar contenders.

Raymond Smith's champion Brad Hilly Billy headlines the fields, with more than $200,000 in prize money already recorded.

Brad Hill Billy has placed in 46 of his 56 career starts and last month finished second in the Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park, one of the richest events in Australian greyhound racing.

Renowned for his late speed, Brad Hill Billy will jump from box five in the second heat on Monday night.

Well-known Cowra-based trainers Rodney McDonald and Paul and Pamela Braddon will also make the trip to Dubbo for the heats.

McDonald will bring a strong contingent from his kennel while the Braddons have a number of contenders but will be without arguably their best dog.

Marbo's Magic was in outstanding form for Braddon this year but earlier this week it was announced he had made the move to the kennels of leading trainer Anthony Azzopardi, who is now based in Victoria.

Despite that, Pamela Braddon will have Jackie's Mate and last-start winner All A Blaze line up in the Gold Cup heats.

McDonald will bring three dogs to Dubbo, the experienced trio of Second Line, Dana Kis and Dana Peach.

The Gold Cup heats will also attract other leading trainers such as Mark Azzopardi, Neil Staines and Martin Hallinan as well as those well-known to Dawson Park like Ron Steel, Shannon Kirby and Colin Williams.

As well as the Gold Cup, there will also be heats of Peg and Bill Miller Stakes run on Monday night in the lead up to the $7000 final on Sunday, April 23.
