The spree started at 2am on Friday at a Dubbo car yard when thieves tried to steal a car by driving it through the fence on the property.
On Facebook, someone who identified themselves as the wife of the business owner said it took four hours to get the fence back up and would cost thousands of dollars to repair the damage.
Dubbo Police said there had been several thefts from motor vehicles on Saturday night in the CBD.
Up to four cars in a CBD car park had their windows smashed sometime during Saturday night and early Sunday morning and three cars were also stolen from the Daily Liberal car park on the same weekend.
Two of the stolen cars were later discovered. On Sunday afternoon police said the third vehicle had not been accounted for.
Police said the two incidents may or may not have been related but breaking into cars was often an opportunistic crime.
"They sure are getting more brazen! 5.30 this morning a car was screaming around west, then at 7am one went flying down O'Donnell,"

Facebook was rampant with noise complaints from cars driving about "mad" and other complaining of "thick black smoke" in west Dubbo on Sunday morning.
"They sure are getting more brazen! 5.30 this morning a car was screaming around west, then at 7am one went flying down O'Donnell," one post read.
"It skidded around Alcheringa Way. It was so loud I was waiting to hear it crash," the post continued.
Another commenter said she "seriously couldn't understand" the levels of crime.
"Dubbo isn't a huge place, big but not huge... how come they keep getting away with it?" she wrote.
"So may break-ins in west [on Saturday], now a car is up in flames around the same area... why aren't police patrolling?"
One person called for everyone to stick together to "find the group of ferals and get them off our streets".
In a separate incident, a 17-year-old was arrested and charged on Saturday for an aggravated break and enter in west Dubbo.
The youth was also charged with resisting arrest.
He has been bail refused and will appear before children's court on February 15.
