As the youngest player in the NSW squad, the RSL-Colts all-rounder said in the lead-up to the tournament he did not expect to feature too regularly for his side.
But during the first five matches the 16-year-old has found himself in the thick of the action, batting in the top six and being one of the side's two main spinners.
Jeffrey proved he was up to the challenge when taking four wickets against Tasmania on Wednesday night.
NSW have won all five matches up to this point, sealing a spot in Monday's final in the process and giving themselves every chance of being crowned champions.
While he is on duty in Alice Springs, Jeffrey is missing a bumper weekend of cricket on the local scene.
As well as three crucial Whitney Cup matches on Saturday, Dubbo meet Cowra in a do-or-die Western Zone Premier League (WZPL) semi-final on Sunday.
Jeffrey has been a regular in the Dubbo side this season and the young leg-spinner said the perfect scenario would be a national title on Monday and then WZPL glory in next Sunday's final against Bathurst.
"I'd love that," he said.
"I've been looking at the side they picked and it would be great for them to have a win.
"It would be great if I could have a win here on Monday and then come back and have a win in the final next week."
