The annual tournament pits the best under-15s and under-17s players from across the state against each other and in round one the NSW Country Eagles Western Province will host the Central Coast and the Sydney Stars Eastern Province.
Both sides have had two training camps in the lead-up to the round one fixtures, the most recent of those weekend and ARU western region development manger Mark Debrincat, who will be overseeing the two squads on the weekend, is confident the Eagles will produce a strong showing.
"We expect to be extremely competitive and we've got a good range of footballers," he said.
"There's boys who have played NSW Schoolboys and played for NSW Country so there's a lot of representative games there from over the years."
As well as the chance to represent NSW Country, the competition is also a great opportunity for the youngsters to play in front of the some of the game's leading coaches.
Despite the challenges of organising a team which covers such a vast area, Debrincat said all the Country coaches were pleased with what they saw at the sessions at Sydney and Orange.
Both Eagles squads are strong all-round units, according to Debrincat, but there will still be some outstanding individual talent on show.
"Hunter Ward will be the captain of the 17s from number eight and he played NSW Schoolboys last year," he said.
"He's one to keep an eye on and Billy Carberry from Mudgee will play number 10 and he's another one to watch in the under-17s.
"In the 15s Logan Conn is a prop from Mudgee and he played NSW Country last year and Beau Westscott will play number eight, he goes to James Sheahan in Orange and played Country as well.
"But they will be typical Country sides which are good all-round and should give it a real good lash."
Dubbo will be well represented by the likes of Kyle Gibson, Tim Cushan and Sam Knaggs.
The action at Caltex Park begins at 10am with the under-15s taking on Central Coast.?That will be followed by the 17s match against the Sydney Stars Eastern Province side.
