The couple took possession of their Fastback Mustang GT 5.0L V8 at Clancy Ford Dubbo on Thursday afternoon, and it has been a long time coming.
Big Mustang fans since the late 1960s and 70s, the Josephs share a passion for the car spanning longer than their "nearly 30-year marriage".
"As a little girl they were the fast car, the muscle car - they always looked great," Mrs Josephs said.
The Josephs had been in communications with Clancy Ford Dubbo for more than three years, asking to be kept informed back when the Ford Mustang was nothing but an unconfirmed rumour.
"When we actually heard that America and Ford Australia were looking to bring it back I came to Clancy's and I said 'pencil me in'," Mrs Josephs said.
"Absolutely amazed and so excited. It's something we've always wanted."
Shiny and sleek, the all-new Ford Mustang is a bold new interpretation of America's legendary pony car.
The Josephs' Ingot Silver vehicle hits the road at Dubbo with an agile body designed for performance.
Clancy Ford salesman Josh Boothby has served the Josephs for six years, and said he was proud to deliver the imported vehicle to a true-blue Ford family.
"It's pretty impressive," Mr Boothby said.
"It's going to be a good story for me to tell my sons and grandchildren."
