BUSINESSES in Dubbo's central business district (CBD) have escaped the worst of a nation-wide Telstra service outage today, with minimal disruptions to business.
The widespread interruption to Telstra mobile service has been felt across the country, with thousands of disgruntled customers taking to social media to complain that calls are unavailable.
Mobile data has also been affected, including 2G, 3G and 4G services.
The Daily Liberal has surveyed 14 CBD businesses this afternoon, with only three reporting any disruption to service.
Centrespot's Nat Snare "didn't even notice it". Less than 100 metres away, at Mr Bean's Coffee Emporium, the EFTPOS machine was down for almost three hours during the busy lunch period.
Owner Terry Core said the facility came back up and running about 2:30pm, and thanked customers for their patience.
"For us it was a trust issue - we had people going across to Westpac [ATM]," Ms Core said.
"People were really understanding - and some people were having trouble themselves [with mobile services]."
The Telstra store on Macquarie Street has been inundated with calls and visits from affected customers since about 12:30pm.
In a statement, Telstra said it was investigating the issue.
"We are aware of an issue currently affecting mobile voice and data nationally," the statement read.
"We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and thank customers for their patience."

A widespread interruption to Telstra mobile service is being felt across the country, with thousands of disgruntled customers taking to social media to complain that calls are unavailable. Mobile data is affected as well, including 2G, 3G and 4G services.
The Service Status page at Telstra's website has been showing "interruptions" across the board in all major cities since 12.45pm, claiming an "interruption" may cause difficulties for some customers.
At the time of writing some mobile phones are apparently able to access data and call services, so the interruption is not absolute, but complaints continue to roll in on social media.
On Twitter, Telstra said it was working to resolve the issue soon.
