THINGS were pretty quiet from an attendance point of view at Dubbo Pistol Club this week but those were there still produced some quality results.

It was the fifth Sunday of the month and 12 happy souls took part in Centrefire/Sports Pistol on range C with Trevor Munro as range officer.
Mal Bootle must have been firing on multiple cylinders on Sunday.
He took out first spot with an outstanding 605 (494, 111). Michael Cowen figured in the placings, once again taking second with 597 (297, 300) and another prolific scorer, Jon Bohan, took third with 592 (456, 136). Other scores were husband and wife team Michael Ryan and Monique Causey-Ryan inseparable with 574 (334, 240) each, Rebekah Watson 560 (368, 192), Garry Deagan 549 (439, 110), Laurence Campbell-Rogers 532 (401, 131), Geoff Luck 530 (364, 166), Kevin Sippel 480 (364, 116) and John Cohen 367 (198, 169). Phil Toynton was the lone Centrefire participant. He withdrew early in the day.
A big thank you must go to Warren Johnson, Ryan Johnson-McNeil and Richard Wheatley for coming out and shooting Black Powder on range B.
Many thanks to Craig Hyland for acting as range officer.
It was much appreciated by Brian McMullen, who missed last week's Black Powder event and asked that it be shot again this weekend so he could participate.
Having said all that scores for Black Powder were Brian McMullen 399 (199, 200), Ryan Johnson-McNeil 357 (233, 124), Richard Wheatley 339 (226, 113) and Warren Johnson 247 (57, 190). Ryan, as always, shot very well while Richard, a newcomer to Black Powder, was only a smidgen behind.
Next week will be 50 metre rifle event on Range A on Saturday and a return to Standard Pistol on Range C on Sunday. The club's Service Pistol members will be busy over the next few months.
Paula Heffernan, Paul Williamson and Mick Davidson will make the trip to Orange next weekend for a WA6000 competition.
There is word three of the state team members are from Orange so this event will provide them with some valuable practice before the Nationals in Perth.
In a few weeks the shooters will be off to Gulgong for a Service/WA1500 competition then another Service/WA1500 event in Orange in March.
They are all wished the best of luck by everyone at the club.
