The recent rain has caused the last three matches in the competition to be abandoned before a ball has even been bowled and the chance of rain remains in the lead up to Friday night's clash between the Cricketer's Arms Journeymen and Western Plains Automotive Warriors.
If the match does go ahead, it is shaping as one of the best this season.
While Rugby have struggled in the Whitney Cup, their Warriors Twenty20 side has been hugely impressive on their way to winning two of three matches so far.
The only side ahead of them are Friday night's opponents, the Journeymen, but a Warriors victory will see them move top of the ladder.
A win will not only move the Warriors to the top but it will also assure them of a place in the finals.
The Journeymen are currently one point ahead of both the Warriors and Christies Crackerjacks, while Newtown's Club Dubbo Tigers, currently in fifth, are the only other side capable of securing a place in the finals.
The Tigers would have to win their final two matches to break into the top three.
If the Warriors are to win, a lot will again rely on Jordan Moran, James O'Brien and Nathan Munro.
The experienced trio have regularly been three of the best for their side but there has been more than handy contributions from the likes of Jacob Bruce, Adrian Carey and Dan Horrocks.
Youngsters Charlie Kempston, Pat Berryman and Nick Karydis have also shown they are not out of place on the big stage.
The Journeymen come into the match with three wins from three matches, with their powerful batting lineup often being the catalyst.
Their last match was a nine-wicket demolition of the Fishpond Cougars, a game in which Wes Giddings and Greg Buckley starred with the bat.
As well as those two, the Journeymen also possess a lineup featuring Jason Ryan, Chris Morton, Marty Jeffrey and Paul Hulthen.
Their performance with the bat against the Warriors bowling attack will go a long way to deciding the match.
The action at No.1 Oval begins at 6.30pm on Friday night.
