THE fireworks that lit up the Dubbo sky at the New Year's Eve party at Caltex Park were the biggest the city have ever seen, according to organisers of the event.

The family friendly event that included a Cars Under the Stars Motor Show, super soaker water park, rides, stalls with food and drinks and a fireworks show to top it all off, was hailed as a great success by both organisers and attendees.
"To have 6500 attend was great and to have so many positive comments is extremely pleasing," New Year's Eve party organiser Peter Judd said.
"The fireworks were great, they were absolutely stunning.
"It was such a great show, I looked at some of the other fireworks shows that were on and Dubbo's were much better.
"It was a constant barrage of sparkles, bangs and colour and according to Steve Lee, who organised it, it was the biggest Dubbo has ever seen, which is pretty special."
While the fireworks were the highlight, Mr Judd said other aspects of the event such as the super soaker water park were also highly enjoyed by the crowd.
"It (water park) was a great hit and is something we are looking at expanding for future years," he said.
"We had kids fighting parents, kids fighting kids and so forth so it was great to see people having such a great time."
While the bulk of the crowd were likely to be Dubbo locals, there was still a strong contingent that had travelled for the event.
"We advertised not just in Dubbo but throughout the surrounding local towns and areas," Mr Judd said.
"We got a lot of positive comments but we want to get as much feedback as possible as we always want to improve and make the next show better.
"People can head to our Facebook page and let us know what they thought of the entire event and what they'd like to see at the next one."
As people entered Caltex Park, they were given a bag to put their garbage in, which Mr Judd said worked really well.
"It took us less than five minutes to clean Caltex Park on Friday," he said.
"The crowd were exceptionally well behaved and we had no reports of any issues.
"One elderly woman had heat stroke and the ambulance was called for that but that was it."
