The 2016 Regional Dentistry Scholarship will be presented to a person starting dentistry studies next year, with the successful applicant to be selected after being assessed against a number of criteria.
These include the basis of the length of time they have lived in regional NSW as well as their financial need and their demonstrated commitment to living and working in regional New South Wales.
NSW Senator and Nationals member John Williams, who will contribute $4800 towards the recipient's first year costs, said the 2016 scholarship would be the seventh awarded.
Previous recipients have come from Albury, Tamworth, Cowra, Bogan Gate, Eustan and Orange respectively.
The scholarship is administered by the National Rural Health Alliance, which offers support throughout the year and the successful student will have access to mentoring from an experienced dentist.
Application forms and guidelines are available at www.ruralhealth.org.au and close on February 15.
