The $91.3 million stage one and two redevelopment included the reconstruction and expansion of the public car park on the eastern side of the hospital.
Right now it's under pressure because of "extra staff and external service providers" helping out at the hospital's new clinical services building.
The hospital's acting general manager Graham Dyer says that the situation is temporary and suggests motorists try parking elsewhere on the hospital campus.
Mr Dyer considers that generally the hospital's car parking capacity is "satisfactory".
Anecdotal evidence from the community suggests otherwise.
Residents tell of driving around the hospital looking for somewhere to park and ending up a long way from their specific destination.
They fear a repeat of the car parking fiasco experienced after the construction of the new Orange Hospital.
Health Infrastructure has worked hard to deliver a state-of-the-art facility at Dubbo Hospital.
It has built confidence in the community that continuing redevelopment of the hospital is in good hands.
But it will all be for nothing if the community is denied modern, safe and accessible car parking.
