A spokesperson for Fire and Rescue NSW said they were notified just before 11am a 100L drum of herbicide had "fallen over and fractured" at the Jannali Road premises, prompting the evacuation of some 15 staff.
About 15 firefighters including a HAZMAT crew and officers from Dubbo and Delroy stations responded to the incident, entering the premises in purpose-built spillage suits and breathing apparatus.
They spent five-and-a-half hours at the site rendering the area safe.
"The manager at the site and the staff are to be commended for their quick action in alerting us," the Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson said.
"Along with it happening in a self-contained shed, it made our role safer and there were no injuries nor damage posed to the environment."
