A Dubbo mother of a NSW Corrective Services Immediate Action Group member, who lost in his life while off-duty, has paid tribute to the work of officers following a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Wellington Correctional Centre.

Lindsay Cafe died five years ago after coming home from work at the Wellington Correctional Centre and the memory runs deeply but his mother Dot Cafe said tributes like the one on Friday were stark reminders of the tough work officers faced on the job.
"It is lovely for his wife and children and for us he is honoured today," she said.
Acting manager security Wellington Correctional centre Craig Smith said fellow officers hearts share a common spirit. "It is a reminder of those who have passed away.''
Wellington's mayor Cr Anne Jones said these men had paid the ultimate sacrifice dating back as far as 1842. She praised Wellington's no incident record.
Cr Jones said the safety policies and commitment was a credit to the acting general manager Brad Peebles, his staff and those who had gone before him.
