This week Dubbo MP and deputy premier Troy Grant presented seven 1st Dubbo scouts with the NSW flag to take to the Jamboree, as representatives of NSW.
In January, the group will travel to Appin alongside scouts from Parkes, Bathurst, Orange, Wellington and Kandos as part of Troop C429 from the Golden West Region
They will be joined by more than 8500 Scouts aged 11 to 25, and 2000 leaders for the ten-day AJ2016 program, which will see Appin become Australia's 35th most populous town for almost two weeks.
The Jamboree will also attract hundreds of scouts from 16 different countries, with international troop travelling from Finland, Hong Kong, Norway and Tonga.
Activities will range from laser skirmishing and high ropes challenges to traditional scout craft, and scouts will also participate in daily city adventure tours of iconic locations like the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
AJ2016 will run from January 3 until January 14.
