Dubbo Health Service acting general manager Graham Dyer said the hospital received high scores across 361 of 367 criteria actions, with only six low-priority recommendations made.

"We are extremely pleased with our results following the intense accreditation process which involved all levels of the organisation from ward staff up to senior management," he said.

Mr Dyer said three surveyors from the ACHS spent three days at the hospital reviewing all facets of care delivery, service provision and organisational structures and systems.

He said the accreditation survey was carried out to compare healthcare facilities to national standards relating to patient, staff and visitor safety as well as quality of care provided, access, entry to the hospital and return to the community.

"The hospital staff were buoyed by comments from the ACHS surveyors at summation, saying there was a positive culture at Dubbo Health Service to provide quality care at the highest level," Mr Dyer said.

"We will now work to maintain this and to make the minor improvements suggested to ensure we are providing the best service possible for the people of Dubbo and surrounding areas."

Mr Dyer said the accreditation was achieved during the $91.3 million stage one and two redevelopment of the hospital.

Staff and patients have moved into its new clinical services building after detailed commissioning of the facility.
