Holly was one of six students from Western NSW who qualified for the prestigious finals of the competition, and travelled down to Sydney to go up against the best spellers in the state.
After a warm-up round, Holly was eliminated in the second round, failing to spell justice correctly which disappointed her as she knew how to spell the word.
"I was a bit nervous on the day and unfortunately got justice wrong," she said.
"Going in competitions will help me get experience and hopefully I can do better next time.
"I want to keep getting better on my spelling and it is something I am always working on."
In total, more than 134,000 students from 939 public schools across NSW took part in the Premier's Spelling Bee competition which saw more than 3500 students progress through to the 42 regional finals.
