ERROL Toomey has been crowned the A-grade winner of the RSL Golf Championships.
The final round of the event was held last Sunday and while Toomey did not win that round his overall point score of 236 saw him finish first.
Sunday's round was played in windy conditions and it was J. Swan who finished first in A-grade, with his nett score of 70, two shots better than L. Swan. J. Hildred was the winner of the B-grade, finishing with a score of 73 while P. Munro was the next best a shot back.
In C-grade J. Tratt went around in 74, two shots better than J. Ward.
Following the final round Toomey was named A-grade championship winner with Justin Moses the runner-up just two points back.
Brian Munro (265) was a comfortable winner in B-grade, finishing nine points ahead of Paul Munro while the C-grade champion was Mick Andrews (309). David Pilon was runner-up.
In the handicap division, Dave McGrath (227) was the A-grade champion, winning by two points from Daniel Harper.
Phil Reynolds finished with a score of 206 in B-grade to win, a big 16 points ahead of Brian Ledsham.
John Tratt (227) won C-grade from John Oldfield (249).
The golfers made a point of thanking major sponsor, the Dubbo RSL Memorial Club for their continued support while stating their appreciation for the players who turned up week in, week out.
During the final round, sponsored by Roof Tech - Mark Cook, G. Atkins won the A-grade nearest the pin competition while in B-grade and C-grade it was J. Tooth and D. Pilon respectively. L. Mitchell, M. McNicol, T. Hibbard and J. Tooth again were other nearest the pin winners.
Action continues next week with a two-man aggregate stableford.
