Based on user ratings and reviews compiled from more than 250 booking sites, Dubbo's hotels saw the city ranked as NSW's 29th best destination in the 2015 Australian Reputation Ranking.
Quest Dubbo was named the city's best accommodation provider, and property manager and business development executive Steve Hornby said his staff always strive to satisfy guests.
"It's something that we're quite proud of," Mr Hornby said.
"Our day-to-day goal is to ensure that every guest that stays with us has the best experience they can. If we did it well yesterday, we can do it better tomorrow."
Dubbo scraped into the rankings for the state's top 30 destinations, just behind Bathurst (23) and Tamworth (24). Orange did not make the top 30.
Despite only being relatively new to the city, Mr Hornby said he was not surprised to see Dubbo being recognised as a top destination.
"I'm completely impressed," Mr Hornby said.
"Dubbo is no longer just about the zoo, Dubbo is about culture, it's about coffee, it's about the food and the country charm of the place. Everybody loves it.
"I'm not surprised because Dubbo is a quality destination for all walks and Dubbo is in a remarkable position to cater for all visitors and there's something for everyone here. Regardless of your budget and your needs, if you want it, Dubbo's got it."
Blue Gum Motor Inn, Dubbo RSL Memorial Club, Sundowner Dubbo Aberdeen Motor Inn and Dubbo City Holiday Park also made the list of Dubbo's top five accommodation providers.
Mr Hornby said it was a team effort by the city's accommodation providers, in securing Dubbo's reputation as a great value destination.
"We're grateful for the recognition but we would also like to say thanks to every other accommodation provider in Dubbo for making Dubbo a continued destination of choice," he said.
