Late yesterday afternoon, with play suspended due to heavy rain in the area, Patrick was four-under through a turbulent 15 holes while Lindsay was a third of the way through his opening round and was sitting on two-under.
A trio of players - Ben Eccles, Hayden Beard and Darren Beck - were leading the way after making the most of pleasant early morning conditions to fire scores of eight-under on the par 72 layout designed by former world number one Greg Norman.
Patrick Wilson was the first of the twins to tee off, and he couldn't have started any worse after firing a triple-bogey score of eight on the opening hole.
But he showed great mental fortitude to rebound from that, recording birdies on holes four, five and six before also getting a birdie on the ninth to finish the front nine one-under.
Three further birdies through the first six holes of the back nine saw him climb into a tie for 24th position before the inclement weather forced players from the course.
Lindsay Wilson's day wasn't quite as eventful, as he made three birdies through the first five holes before bogeying the sixth.
It was at that point that the rain came, meaning he has some catching up to do when play resumes.
