Dubbo Black Dog Ride coordinator Steve Gower said he was grateful for the community and local businesses getting behind the event.
"They've been very supportive of the Charity Golf Day, which is great because it gets people talking about suicide and depression," he said.
Mr Gower said the Charity Golf Day is more about having fun.
"It's a bit of a get together and it gets the businesses involved," he said.
"Employee's in those businesses would know someone who suffers from depression, so it enables them to keep the awareness going."
The day will include a free lunch for those who bought a ticket, as well as prizes to give away.
Mr Gower said if the day is successful, he would certainly hope to hold another event in the future.
"It will be a fun, casual day, that will hopefully have people talking about depression and suicide prevention, which will in turn break down any stigmas," he said.
Local Dubbo business, Transforce, have sponsored one of the holes, and managing director Steve Fieldus said it was humbling to see the amount of support the event has so far received.
"We've had a good take up," he said.
"It's great community support and you can't go past that."
