Narromine will play host to the event which is expected to draw competitors in from the USA, Germany, Italy, Canada and Finland.
Played out from December 1 to 12, the competition will gain international attention and the home side is ready for that after recently holding a squad gathering in Sydney.
The squad is made up of six members, each incredibly experienced for their age.
Matthew Scutter, Ailsa McMillan, Dylan Lampard, Joe O'Donnell, James Nugent and Eric Stauss will make up the Australian squad while Mandy Temple will act as team captain and John Buchanan as team coach.
Scutter is one to watch at Narromine, with the 24-year-old Adelaide product tipped by many to be a future world champion.
Currently ranked third in the World Junior Rankings, has finished first in the Australian Multiclass Nationals, Australian Junior Nationals and Australian Club Class Nationals in recent years.
Twenty-two-year-old McMillan has been gliding for six years and has been particularly passionate about the sport in rural areas, something which should stand her in good stead at Narromine.
One of her better recent results was finishing second in the Pre-Worlds 15m Class at the Australian Junior Nationals.
Lampard is only 19 but after recently returning from a trip to Europe where he studied other pilots' tactics he will be another to keep an eye on.
O'Donnell may be from Yeppoon in Queensland but his family members previously ran the Narromine Gliding Club.
A 23-year-old army reservist, O'Donnell finished first in the Pre-Worlds Club Class at the most recent Australian Junior Nationals.
Despite only being 17, Nugent in incredibly experienced after having his first flight at five years old under the instructions of his father.
He then flew solo on his 15th birthday and now is the youngest member of the Australian squad.
Stauss is the final member of the squad and another who comes into the World Championships in good touch after having recently flown over 30,000 feet during a cross country flight.
He also finished second in the Pre-Worlds Club Class at the Australian Junior Nationals.
All six team members will be in action at Narromine from December 1 to12.
