A 30-YEAR-OLD Orange man charged with possession of a sawn-off shotgun, drugs and a large quantity of cash was under the influence of the drug ice when arrested on Monday, Bathurst Local Court has heard.

Jay Daniel Phillip Egan of Richard Laffan Place, Orange was taken to court under guard on Tuesday but did not appear before the magistrate.
He will return to Bathurst Local Court on December 14.
The Orange man came to the notice of the highway patrol at 7.30am on Monday when he was seen trying to leave the scene of an accident on the Great Western Highway at Raglan.
Police allege his silver BMW was travelling east on the Great Western Highway when it left the road and crashed into a culvert.
A highway patrol officer, who was patrolling nearby, attempted to arrest the driver and was assaulted.
Two civilians came to his aid and Egan was arrested,
He was charged with possessing a shortened firearm, possessing a loaded firearm in a public place, possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, driving under the influence of alcohol and other drug, possessing a prohibited drug - 30g crystal methylamphetamine (ice), assaulting an officer in the execution of his duty, resisting an officer in the execution of his duty and driving while disqualified.
Police allege a loaded shortened double-barrel Accaido shotgun, was located on the front passenger seat during a search of the vehicle.
The court was also told that during the struggle the man attempted to throw a small bag of methylamphetamine (ice) from his pocket.
Bail was not applied for and was formally refused.
The accused was transferred to Sydney in the custody of corrections officers.
