The two most successful jockeys in Australian racing will go head-to-head on three occasions during the eight-race meeting.
No jockeys have won more races than Thompson or Ryan with Thompson currently the only Australian jockey with more than 4000 winners.
Dubbo champion Ryan now has more than 3300 and missed out on riding any winners on Monday after the meeting at Coonabarabran was abandoned due to rain and the state of the track.
Ryan has seven rides for the day with his best chance appearing to be the Bjorn Baker-trained War Pig in the Olympic Glory @ Arrowfield Class 1 and Maiden Plate, a race Thompson will not feature in.
War Pig has only had one start but it was a good one with victory at Bathurst earlier this month.
As well as the two outstanding jockeys, Dubbo brothers and trainers Dar and Garry Lunn will also make the trip to Scone.
Dar Lunn will be looking for back-to-back wins when With Care lines up in the day's final race, the Albrecht @ Darley Benchmark 65 Handicap.
Five-year-old With Care is coming off a last-start win at Coonamble and will carry half-a-kilogram less than he did that day when he jumps from barrier three with hoop Ben Looker onboard.
Lunn's other hope is seven-year-old Bush Rock, who has only won twice in 20 career starts.
Lunn's brother Garry will also be in action with Consented set to make the journey east.
Consented, with two wins and one place from his last five starts, is coming off a disappointing 13th placed finish in the Coonamble Cup just over two weeks ago.
The five-year-old has plenty of talent though, evident from his $45,000 in prize money, and will be seeking his fifth win from 23 starts on Tuesday.
Apprentice jockey Jacob Gilchrist has been handed the job and will have his work cut out for him with both Ryan and Thompson also lining up in the Uncle Mo @ Coolmore Benchmark 60 Handicap (1600m).
