Police have charged a man after he was allegedly found in possession of firearms in Dubbo.

About 4pm Monday, officers from Orana Local Area Command searched an East Dubbo home where they allegedly located five firearms including a shortened shot-gun, two pump-action firearms and two high-powered rifles.
Officers also allegedly found ammunition and a NSW Police Force shirt.
Following the search, police attended an address in Dubbo where they arrested a 33-year-old man.
He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with:
- Contravene AVO
- Possess unauthorised prohibited weapon (three counts)
- Possess unauthorised firearm (two counts)
- Possess ammunition without licence
- Unauthorised possession of firearms in aggravated circumstances
He was refused bail ahead of an appearance in Dubbo Local Court on Tuesday.
