While the wins of North and Martin were impressive neither had the events to themselves.
Two-young guns showed they will be a force to be reckoned with in the future chasing home both winners.
Orange's Connor Whiteley chased North home in the men's race finishing just one minute behind the experienced North who has tested himself in the professional ranks.
North completed the grand-prix course in 51 minutes and 43 seconds with Whiteley second in 52.43. Bathurst's Mark Windsor was third male home in 53.37.
Under the grand-prix format competitors complete a 2km run followed by a 200 metre swim and a 9km bike ride. They then jump back in the water for another 200 metre swim, 9km bike ride before finishing with a 2km run.
The Orange women continued their domination of the female division with a one, two, three finish.
Janet Martin took out the event in 56 minutes and 14 seconds from young Lauren Kerwick in 57.36 with Kinisha Roweth third in 63.44.
The strength of Martin's performance was empathised by the fact she finished behind just five male competitors while only nine of the men were able to hold off Kerwick.
