With just under a month to go, cancer survivors and carers can take part in the Relay for Life Survivors and Carers lap of honour, as part of the opening ceremony.
Orana Relay for Life committee member Trish Taylor said a key theme for Relay for Life is celebrating the courage of local patients and spreading hope.
"Some people like to be identified and some don't," Ms Taylor said.
"What's important is they know they're invited, and if they life to wear one of our survivor or carer sashes and take part in the opening lap of honour and the special afternoon tea straight after, we'll make them feel very welcome."
Ms Taylor said if anyone knows a survivor or carer, she would encourage them to take part.
"All you need to do to be part of the Survivors and Carers lap of honour is fill in a form and be part of the opening ceremony on Saturday, October 7. It's that simple," she said.
This years Orana Relay for Life will be held on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, at DCL Park.
For more information contact the Cancer Council office on (02) 6392 0800. The next team information night will be held on Wednesday, October 14 from 6pm to 7pm at Sporties Dubbo.
