IT was a very quiet morning last Sunday but there were plenty of swims for the 12 ducks who had adjusted their clocks and ventured down to the duck pond in a bid to take out the Dubbo Meat and Seafood October monthly trophy.

The winner of the trophy is determined by the swimmer who swims closest to their time in the heats of the 25-metre freestyle event.
A lot of the times were off the pace, however Judy Walsh had a good swim to take the win (0.50) from David Sparkes (0.94).
A big thank you to the Dubbo Meat and Seafood, who are long-time sponsors and supporters of the Dubbo Ducks.
Judy continued on her winning way and progressed through the event to be joint first place winner with Mark Scullard. John Wherritt touched next with David Sparkes and Brian Schloeffel taking the minor places.
Mark also had a win in the final of the 2 x 50m breaststroke/breaststroke brace relay with partner Nicole Johnstone after Brian Schloeffel and Mark Bonser were disqualified for breaking their time.
David Sparkes and Ron Everett came in next with John Wherritt and Judy Walsh, and Greg Salmon and Rob Rich making up the final.
Brian had luck on his side in the final of the 25m backstroke when he pipped Mark Scullard by 0.02 seconds.
The rest of the field were a little off the pace with David Sparkes (1.90), Greg Salmon (2.16) and Robert Rich (6.07).
Congratulations to captain Greg Salmon for taking out the September point score.
Reg Ferguson and Brian Schloeffel had the lucky numbers.
This Sunday will be the Col Eastburn 'Boom Boom' Brace relay.
Col was a long-time member of the Ducks and on his passing his wife Cathy donated the trophy in his honour.
It was so named as Col made a loud "boom boom" sound with his feet when swimming freestyle.
Upcoming events for are the Clive Rootes Memorial relay and the interclub visit from Harbord.
The Dubbo Ducks swim each Sunday at the RSL pool at 9am. We cater for all age groups and everyone is welcome.
