After riding some 180 kilometres from Wellington to Warren on Monday, riders trekked more than 200 kilometres from Warren to Cobar on Tuesday, where it was forecast to reach 37 degrees and was already in excess of 30 degrees by 10am.
A real highlight for all the riders was meeting the Big Bogan at Nyngan, which has proven a popular attraction since it was established in the town last month.
The Tour de OROC is aiming to exceed the $176,000 donation it made to the Macquarie Homestay project after its inaugural running two years ago.
Tour de OROC committee chairman David Hayes said being welcomed into the communities like Nyngan during the ride was a really enjoyable part of the experience.
"It's great to see the community support," he said.
"It's also nice to see Bogan Shire mayor Ray (Donald) on his clunker of a bike, we were a bit worried about him for about 500 metres there."
Mr Donald rode the city boundaries on Tuesday with the pack and said he had a great time, although he did not pick an easy day to take up riding according to Mr Hayes.
"It's pretty good but there's a bit of a cross wind and there's the heat," he said. "But we're in a big group and we do rotation so everyone gets a turn at the front for a couple of minutes."
After departing Cobar this morning, the riders will spend a night at Bourke, Walgett and Coonabarabran before arriving at Dubbo this Saturday after cycling a total of 1200 kilometres.
