If you're around Caltex Park on Saturday here's four round one matches not to miss.
DUBBO PACEMAKERS v BLACKTOWN WESTERN WARRIORS
One of the big local hopes, the Pacemakers are one of the first sides to take to the field Saturday and take on a relatively unknown Blacktown side.
While the Pacemakers may lack some of the big names of the other sides competing they do have a real bond which is needed in a carnival like this.
There's plenty of talent and youngsters Brayden and Marshall Peachey are definitely ones to watch.
If the Pacemakers get past Blacktown then there's no reason they can't make a run deep into the competition.
MOREE BOOMERANGS v TOOMELAH TIGERS - 12pm
Passion is one thing which will be on show in every single match played during the Knockout. But when you get two local rivals going head-to-head in the very first round it sets up a bumper match.
This match-up drew the most cheers from the crowd when it was announced at the Gala Dinner on Wednesday night and is already being much-anticipated.
NEWCASTLE YOWIES v YUIN MONARO UNITED - 4.10pm
The Yowies are one of the top favourites for this year's event. With the likes of Timana Tahu and Dane Gagai expected to line up there's no shortage of talent and rumours persist the a certain Greg Inglis may even make an appearance for them.
In Yuin Monaro the Yowies have been handed a particularly tricky task first up.
One of the most attacking and exciting teams going around, Yuin Monaro are not expected to take a backwards step against the Knockout heavyweight.
WALGETT ABORIGINAL CONNECTION (WAC) v WERRIS CREEK MEMORIAL
The defending champions may be without St George player Joel Thompson in 2015 but there is still enough talent for Walgett to go back-to-back.
With the Rose brothers leading the way the Walgett side play with grunt and passion and they'll need to be at their best in a group which also includes the Yowies and Griffith United Three Ways.
Werris Creek may find the going pretty tough against the defending champions but the chance to see Walgett in action is not to be missed.
