► Friday, October 2 to Monday, October 5 - NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout. Dubbo is proud to host the 45th Annual NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Championships in October. About 15,000 people will visit Dubbo over four days to compete and enjoy a feast of top-level rugby league. Teams will be drawn from all corners of the state and will include current and former NRL players. The region’s premier football venue, Caltex Park will be the venue for the Championships.
► Saturday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 6 - Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes and Dirty Beasts at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre. Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes and Dirty Beasts bursts off the page in a spectacular new live show, taking the world’s best-loved fairy tales and rearranging them with some unexpected and hilarious twists. A visual feast that combines a rocking sound track, immersive lighting design, dance, song, shadow puppetry and four of the country’s best comic actors who bring over 40 character to life. ► Saturday, October 3 - Dubbo Farmer’s Markets at Macquarie Lions Park from 8am to 12pm. The Dubbo Farmers Markets is a showcase of the region’s produce, fresh from the soils and water basins of the Macquarie Valley and beyond.
► Saturday, October 3 - Disney Locked Up - Beauty and the Beast at the Old Dubbo Gaol from 6:30pm. Bring the family, a picnic rug, your pillows and your inner child to Old Dubbo Gaol’s Disney Locked Up. Screening movies chosen by the public on the Outdoor Cinema Screen, experience Disney magic beneath the stars. Tickets start at $10.
